सुपरपोजीशन प्रमेय के अनुसार यदि किसी रेखीय परिपथ में  एक से  ज्यादा वि ०वा०बल कार्य कर रहे हो जो एक-दूसरे पर किसी भी  तरह से निर्भर न हो तब परिपथ के किसी भी प्रतिरोध में बहने वाली धारा प्रत्येक वि०वा०बल० के अकेले परिपथ में कार्य करने पर बहने वाली धाराओं के बीजगणितीय योग के बराबर होती है । 

"In a network of linear resistance certainity more than one em.f/current source than the currentflows through any resistance is the sum of all the currents which would flow at that resistance if each emf/current source coasidered separately and all the other emf/current source replace for the time being by resistance equal to their internal resistance."
